Uncertainty
I’m dealing with a lot of uncertainty right now, and it's a bit like trying to navigate a maze blindfolded. When I have a clearer idea of what's happening, I'll definitely share more about it. For now, I’m just trying to manage the ups and downs.
One minute, I’m ready to seize the day like an over-caffeinated squirrel, eager to grab every opportunity. The next, I’m too scared to make any plans and just want to hibernate. If you’re riding this rollercoaster too – whether you're waiting for scan results, treatment plans, or a surgery date – here are some ways I'm handling the unknown:
1. Acknowledge Your Feelings
It’s completely okay to be scared and confused. No one knows exactly how to deal with this, so give yourself a break and be kind to yourself.
2. Focus on the Short Term
Thinking too far ahead can feel like staring into a black hole. Instead, focus on the day-to-day stuff and what you can control right now.
3. Recognize Your Achievements
Give yourself a pat on the back for your wins, no matter how small. Celebrating little victories can really boost your mood.
4. Do What’s Comfortable
Move at your own pace. Don’t let others pressure you into things that make you uncomfortable, but don’t let fear stop you from doing things that make you happy.
I’m not always sure how to act right now. The uncertainty makes me mad at myself for worrying, but then I also freak out when I momentarily forget my health issues and enjoy my day. Taking it one step at a time is key. No one expects you to have it all figured out. We’re all just figuring it out as we go!
