Friday Night Plans
Hey there, party people. Ok so, BC, I wouldn’t exactly call myself the quintessential party girl. Well, except for that one wild night in Barcelona when my best friends and I decided to conquer the city until the crack of dawn. But hey, that's a tale for another time.
Spoiler alert: it was a complete one off and we ended up sleeping the majority of the next day, so much for the all-nighter!
Now, let's talk about Fridays, shall we? Ah, the exciting anticipation of Friday night! Whether it was going for drinks with my friends, enjoying a cosy dinner with my family, or just Netflix and chilling solo-style, the options were endless, and I loved it!
But, surprise surprise, that all changed with the lingering effects of cancer. So, rewind back a few days and it's Friday evening. Suddenly, my stomach starts staging a protest. Fast forward a few hours, and I'm doubled over in agony, weak as a kitten, and on the fast track to A&E. Cut to even more hours later, and voila, morphine to the rescue as I wait anxiously for the CT scan results.
But you know what? Despite the rollercoaster, I was back home within 24 hours, thanks to the fantastic NHS medical team who had my back. A special shoutout to the A&E nurse who waited with me for my CT scan. We talked about everything under the sun whilst waiting. Who knew chatting could be such a distraction from scanxiety?!
And let's not forget my incredible family, being my ultimate squad goals throughout it all. Seriously, my parents and sisters are like human umbrellas, shielding me from life's downpours.
So yeah, Friday nights might look a bit different now, but you know what hasn't changed? The power of a support system. Life's full of twists and turns, and it was an incredibly scary experience for me and those around me. But, as long as you've got your ride-or-die crew by your side, you're golden. Here's to facing those bumps in the road together and coming out stronger on the other side! 🎉
